$5k reward offered for Mo Wilson murder suspect whereabouts as case is upgraded

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information regarding the whereabouts of Kaitlin Armstrong, who is wanted on first-degree murder felony charges in connection with the shooting of gravel cyclist Mo Wilson.

The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force has also upgraded the investigation to ‘major case’ status as it nears one month since Wilson was killed in Austin, Texas.

They have also uncovered new information that suggests Armstrong was dropped off at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, on May 18, a week after Wilson was killed and a day after the Austin Police Department obtained a warrant for Armstrong’s arrest.

The only publicly released sighting of Armstrong since Wilson’s death on May 11 was three days later on May 14, when security tapes show Armstrong in Austin airport. Investigators believe she boarded a flight to Houston Hobby Airport and then a connecting Southwest Airlines flight to New York LaGuardia Airport.

In Texas, first-degree murder felony charges can be a capital offence, punishable by the death penalty.

“The United States Marshals Service is requesting assistance in locating 34-year-old Kaitlin Armstrong who is suspected of killing Anna Wilson, 25, a Vermont native who was in Austin for a bike race,” the wanted poster reads.

“Police responding to a call at the East Austin Residence discovered Wilson bleeding and unconscious from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”
