Preview: What you need to know about stage 11 of the 2022 Vuelta a España
Date: Wednesday August 31
Start: Elpozo Alimentación
Finish: Cabo de Gata
Distance: 191.2 km
This should be a day for the sprinters. Note though that most of the last 110 km runs along the Alboran coast which could open the door for some late crosswind action. We can only hope.
The fast men who remain in the race will be raring to go given the fact that Sam Bennett, the winner of two stages, has been forced out of the Vuelta after testing positive for Covid-19.
Can Trek-Segafredo’s Mads Pedersen finally turn his second places into stage victory? Or will the purer fast men such as Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Deceuninck) or BikeExchange-Jayco’s Kaden Groves prosper?
Who’s it for: The sprinters.
