Trinity Racing goes with wild new look for 2023 team kit
Trinity Racing is packing a wild new look for its team kit for 2023.
The UK-based development team unveiled its brash, bold new jersey during a recent team camp in Spain.
While many teams are stuck with unimaginative, cut-and-paste designs, the U23 squad is pushing the envelope.
The team wanted to create a design that reflected its young, forward-looking posture, and it’s come up with the wildest team kit since EF Education-EasyPost rolled out the skateboard-themed jersey in 2020.
Working with Specialized, the team unveiled its new look that’s quickly capturing attention.
“It’s a representation of getting into game mode – “PLAY” and “PAUSE” or “CALM” and “CHAOS” – there are times in racing that you need to be relaxed and calculated and moments when you need to hit ‘go’ and burn some matches,” said Thomas Perren, Specialized Senior Apparel Designer.
“Most importantly it is about having fun on the bike and crushing it as a team. Like in a game, there are usually charismatic individuals with interesting back stories, back drops and goals.”
The double-checkered, black-on-white neon look is unlike anything in the peloton right now, something that TV announcers and fans alike will appreciate.
“We really wanted to give this illusion of chaos through the textures and layers and loud colors, but every choice was very intentional on how it either wrapped on the body or showed up on bike or helmet,” said Kayla Clarot, Specialized Leader Brand Concepts. “We’re tying into this idea of the ‘butterfly effect’ and the seemingly chaotic nature of something that really is full of intent and pattern.”

On the sporting side, the team that produced such riders as Tom Pidcock and Ben Turner sees Peter Kennaugh join as team manager, with Jon Mould as the assistant manager.
American Luke Lamperti is back to headline a mixed squad with British, Irish, and Australian riders filling out the 21-rider roster.
“It was great to visit the camp for a couple days to see everyone working hard together and also to welcome the new riders to the team,” said Andrew McQuaid, director of Trinity Sports Management. “I believe we have created a great learning environment for the our riders to thrive and having the experience and input of Pete, Nico and Jon is invaluable for the young riders.
“With each season we have seen a number of our alumni (both riders and staff!) transition to the WT and we are extremely grateful to our principle partners, Specialized, SRAM and Zwift for supporting us on this project. We have another exciting roster this season and I look forward to seeing our young talent become better riders, under the tutelage of Pete and Jon, which will hopefully allow them to achieve results and step up.”
