Across the sporting world, if athletes need to wear a helmet, there’s usually at least one top star wearing a Red Bull branded lid. For road cycling, that distinction goes to Belgian Wout van Aert. And until recently, unlike the sports drink that has funded an extreme sports media empire, you couldn’t just buy a Red Bull helmet off the shelf.
Until now, that is. Lazer is releasing a special Wout van Aert Red Bull edition bicycle helmet, the first publicly available Red Bull branded helmet.

“Lazer always has been my favorite helmet brand, even before I became a professional athlete,” Van Aert said. “To celebrate our long lasting and successful collaboration, I was offered to create my very own helmet design.”
While not the traditional silver and blue Red Bull logo adorned helmet design that Van Aert and so many top athletes wear, the new special design is the same one that Wout van Aert will use this weekend at Milan-San Remo.
The design features two tones of blue with a metallic sheen and a custom Wout Van Aert Red Bull logo on the top. It will be available in two different Lazer models: the top end Vento KinetiCore aero lid, and the mid-range Strada KinetiCore.
Both models feature KinetiCore, Lazer’s in-house rotational-impact protection technology similar to MIPS, helping them earn top five-star ratings from independent helmet testing lab Virginia Tech.
Both models cost the same amount as their non-energy drink branded counterparts, $300 USD/ €270 for the Vento, and $110 USD/ €110 for the Strada, and are available now.
The Vento version will be a limited release, with only 1,994 made available to the public (representing the year of Van Aert’s birth). However, the Strada will be much more widely available.
