The 8 best bike paint jobs at the Taipei Cycle Show 2023

As far as bike trade shows go, there are relatively few complete bicycles to be found at the Taipei Cycle Show. Many of the 800 or so vendors here are showing off new parts and components from catalog frames all the way down water bottle cage mounting bolts. Anything you might need to make a bike is here.

But still, there are plenty of complete bikes around the show, and among them are some truly interesting paint jobs. Here are eight that caught our attention.

This tricked out Speedvagen

This Speedvagen is tricked out even by the lofty standards the custom Portland-based frame brand has established for itself. This one was at the booth of a distributor that carries the brand.

The EF x Palace x Cannondale collaboration Slice

There is race used pro gear scattered throughout the show. Besides a signed Jonas Vingegaard yellow jersey from the Tour de France, this Cannondale Slice made in collaboration with streetwear brand Palace for the EF Education-EasyPost TDF squad last summer takes the cake for coolest bit of memorabilia on display.

This one was raced by American Neilson Powless, who narrowly missed out on wearing the yellow jersey in 2022.

Passoni Martini Racing Edition titanium road bike

Passoni is an Italian custom frame builder. This titanium road bike taps into its Italian roots with a collaboration with legendary automotive racing outfit Martini Racing.

Martini Racing’s livery is everywhere from the cockpit to the crankset.

The build includes a headbadge logo (or whatever you call it when it’s on the seat tube, not the head tube). A manufacturer of headbadges is also at the show in case you were wondering. There really is everything here.

Even the cranks have the blue and red stripes — of course it’s Campagnolo.

Floral Liv Langma Advanced Pro 0 Disc

Liv’s lightweight and stiff race bike gets a floral livery at the Liv booth.

Wilier Filante SLR

This is the same paint Team Astana is riding this season, and it looks stunning in person (and on the internet) — which doesn’t come as too much of a surprise for Wilier now does it?
