Kwaremont beer honors Tadej Pogačar with special Tour of Flanders bottle

Kwaremont beer honors Tadej Pogačar with special Tour of Flanders bottle

Beer, bikes, and Belgium are synonymous, and now Tour of Flanders winner Tadej Pogačar has his own special bottle.

Officials from Kwaremont Beer presented the recently crowned winner of De Ronde with his own specially tagged “magnum” of the popular brew after blazing away to victory Sunday.

The over-sized bottle featured a one-off printed label of Pogačar as the Flanders winner.

There was plenty of celebration overnight Sunday, but UAE Team Emirates officials say the bottle is safely tucked away, and likely won’t be opened any time soon.

It’s only apt that the brewers of the Kwaremont Beer would give Pogačar the special bottle. After all, Pogačar attacked on the beer’s namesake on the Oude Kwaremont to blow up the men’s edition and pave the way for the stunning solo victory.

The beer was launched in 2010 by De Brabandere Brewery, near to Harelbeke. The company dates back to 1894, and its other brands include Batik, Petrus, and Wieze.

It’s one of the top sponsors of the E3 Saxo Classic, and promotes its Kwaremont brand across Belgium with the slogan, “Cycling beer for cycling lovers.”

The Kwaremont is linked to the eponymous climb, and its label is market by a triangle warning sign marking its 6.6 percent alcohol content (some say light by Belgian standards) that is equal to the gradient on the Oude Kwaremont climb.
