Bike check: Rigoberto Uran’s Cannondale Supersix Evo Lab71

Bike check: Rigoberto Uran's Cannondale Supersix Evo Lab71

When it comes to grand tours, Rigoberto Uran has always been a dark horse threat. Finishing runner up at the Giro d’Italia twice and the Tour once, not to mention stage wins in all three of cycling’s three-week epics, means he has to be respected and paid attention to in any stage race.

At 36, he’s exiting the prime for GC contention, but EF Education-EasyPost will still be hoping for a big result at the Giro. This time around, Uran has a not-so-secret weapon in Cannondale’s Lab71 edition Supersix Evo, an even higher-end version of the aero climbing model that the team has been racing for a few seasons. That means a lighter build thanks to a more refined carbon layup.

Oh, and the bike has a special one-off paint job just for the Giro, which is pretty eye-catching — and envy-inducing once you learn that it won’t be available to the public (though EF’s one-off Cannondales have a tendency to get auctioned off for good causes, so maybe keep an eye out).

Uran’s Cannondale Supersix Evo Lab71 is built with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, Vision wheels and cockpit, Vittoria tires, FSA components, and Prologo saddle and bar tape.
