At this point, it is almost expected that teams EF Education-EasyPost and EF Education-Tibco-SVB drop some sort of new, exclusive, or unique kit just in time for the Giro d’Italia. Largely it was out of necessity, as EF’s team kit was a similar enough shade of pink to the maglia rosa leader’s jersey to require a change.
Following on the heels of a collaboration kit with skateboarding brand Palace in 2020, and two more swap out kits the following years, this year’s kit is a patchwork of material that features 72 percent recycled materials in a nod to the team’s sustainability initiatives. These kits follow a new Rapha kit release called Rapha Excess, which you can read more about here.
Like years prior, EF has also released a small run of specially-painted race bikes for the race to accentuate the special kits.
The custom-painted frames use the recently released Lab71 Cannondale SuperSix Evo frames. None of the frames are new, instead repainting already-produced frames for the race. Better still, each frame is hand-painted meaning no two rider bikes will be identical.
These frames are designed to be team-only and will not be available for purchase. Sorry Cannondale fans!
